Lord here I am (Ps. 40)
At the end of 2010 I took home a mass
booklet.
There was a verse in it from Psalm 40 that
grabbed my attention.
In Dutch it says: Hier ben ik Heer, Uw wil te doen is mijn vreugde.
In January 2011 I found the booklet again and
decided to translate
the Dutch text to an English version. I came
up with the following translation; Lord here I am, to do Your will is my joy.
Then in February a young woman came to our
church. She was very ill. We prayed for her and in March she told me that Psalm
40 was her favourite Psalm, especially verses 8 and 9. Unfortunately she died
in May. The evening before the funeral I had
a phone call from a man called Ted Bauer. He was a guitarist, and they had
asked him to play at the funeral, but he couldn’t sing very well. He asked me
to sing and whether I had some songs we could sing. At the funeral I played the
song Lord here I am with him.
Ted Bauer is the guitarist who plays with me
on this cd and he also made the videos and the website.
Isn’t it great how God arranges things…….Thank
You dear Lord!
